PHULCHOWKI HIKING
Phulchoki is situated at the highest point among surrounding hills of Kathmandu valley rims at an altitude of 2,750 meter which is one of the perfect place to see vegetation (Botanical Garden) and bird watching. The trip starts from Kathmandu by drive to Godawari, i.e, 14 km far and 45 minutes of drive. We hike for 3 to 4 hours to the top ridge of Phulchowki, the small hill region which is recommended for its quiet surroundings, skyline views of the surrounding landscapes and snow capped mountain views in the distance to the far northwest. Its beauty is augmented by presence of a botanical garden where we can observe the rich display of hundreds of different species of flowers, plants, trees and herbs. On the top of it we can observe the wide angle panorama views of mountains and Mt. Everest ranges, Cho –Oyu, Gaurishanker Himal, Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Mt. Manaslu all the way to Annapurna range towards far west. The place is rich in vegetation in spring and summer exotic flowers like rhododendrons, magnolia, orchids and wild flowers. On return we hike downhill for approx 2 and half hours and visit the garden which offers the varieties of flowers, plants and herbs.
