NAGARJUNA HIKE
Nagarjuna Hill is situated at the western side of Kathmandu valley at an altitude of 2500 meters which can be climbed through Nagarjuna Hike from Fishtail Tours and Travels. The place is also famous for rock climbing and bird-watching tours. The trip starts from Kathmandu by surface driving to Balaju Water Garden around 8 Km and 30 minutes of drive from the city center. The hiking starts from the army checkpoint, through the dense forest toward Nagarjuna Hill for nearly two hours in a beautiful forest overlooking the panoramic scenery of Kathmandu valley and distant peaks of Manaslu, Ganesh, Langtang, JugalHimal to Gaurishanker towards the east. Nagarjuna, a viewpoint hidden by the thick woods of rhododendrons, oaks, and pines with a small Buddhist monastery dedicated to Lord Guru Rinpoche is also known as Padmasambhava and a view tower. This is the spot where great legendry Manjushree back in 4,000 years observed the lake which is a valley now chopped the southern rim of the lake and become a fertile valley for the people to settle. After lunch and a little rest, we descend back to the exit gate for a short drive back to the hotel.
