The Royal Trek

The Royal Trek is one of the easiest treks in the Annapurna region of Nepal suitable for people of all age and groups. It is named after Prince Charles who walked through this route in 1980’s along with his 90 camp followers explored the route in 1981 shortly before he married Princess Diana. The royal trek leads you through an easy route with an occasional uphill and downhill hike with is followed by various ridges and valleys. As you walk through the rhododendron forests, you will be blessed with the panoramic view of Pokhara valley, northern Annapurna range and Mount Fishtail. The trail leads you through various ethnic villages rich in diverse culture that inhabit this region. It is an awesome opportunity to interact with the locals and get some insights about their traditions culture, customs, and lifestyles. The Royal Trek is also the shortest treks along the foothills of Annapurna, north of the Pokhara valley.

The journey of Royal trek begins in the beautiful city of Pokhara and passes through beautiful Gurung villages. The trip finally ends at the scenic Pokhara City. The beauty of the Royal Trek is that it offers scenic view of flora and fauna, the landscapes, eagles soaring, and spectacular mountains views of Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, Machapuchre, Dhaulagiri and other various surrounding peaks.

The Royal trip is basically recommended for beginners and those people who are restricted by time to trek longer. This is an easy trek with occasional ascents and descends in the shrub like path along the foothills of Annapurna. Moreover, compared to other trekking areas around Annapurna region, Royal trekking route is less crowded due to which you can get closer to nature, culture and their lifestyle. This basic requirement for the Royal Trek is just basic health condition because the maximum altitude we go is only 1,730 meters at Syaglung. This trek presents a true picture of uniqueness and allowing us the chance to capture traditional lifestyles of the tribes and their ancient religious practices which have remained unchanged for thousands of years.
