The river rises near Tibet and flows eastward in Nepal through the great valleys between Mahabharata lekh mountain and the Himalaya. Sunkoshi has its own mood; it can be calm, serene and extreme depending upon the unpredictable nature itself. Thus, the Sunkoshi river rafting can be both charming and challenging.

The trip lasts usually for around 9-10 days. The trip begins officially from a drive to Dolalghat; which is the rafting starting point with short rafting camp in Tarang Gaon. The trip ends at Chatara, from where the rafters can take a flight back to Kathmandu.
